During the walk you will hear how the farming village of Apeldoorn completely changed into a dignified place of residence at the end of the 19th century and eventually grew into the city it is today. The guide tells about the arrival of wealthy citizens and the origins of the chic Parkenbuurt. The result: luxury shops and lunchrooms, but also secondary schools and a public reading room/library. And of course the elite also wanted to be entertained in the theater, cinema and society! They can all still be found.
