GASTRONOMICAL ENJOYMENT OF THE VELUWE NATURE

Hotel Restaurant de Echoput is situated on historic grounds in the heart of the Het Loo Crown Estate, the royal woods of Het Loo Palace. King Louis Napoleon had a well dug at this location in 1809. When this well was found to have a remarkable echo, Queen Wilhelmina had a tea house built there in 1936. In 1955, the Klosse family moved to the Echoput. Since then, the Echoput has grown from a tea house into a top-class restaurant and a lavish 5-star hotel-restaurant featuring various meeting rooms, a heated indoor pool, a body spa, a bar, and a cooking school.

Total gastronomic experience

De Echoput has specialized in natural (game) preparations and food and wine pairings for years. This began in the 1950s with the vision of grandfather Jaap Klosse, who specialized in products found around the house, such as game, mushrooms, and berries. Although ‘local’ is a major trend now, this way of working was unique at the time. His son, Peter Klosse, subsequently specialized further in taste and the pairing of wines and dishes. The third generation of Klosses is now active in the business.

The philosophy of the Echoput is a total gastronomic experience. To enjoy a weekend of culinary delights, unwind in the spacious hotel rooms, and relax in the surrounding nature. The unique surroundings play a major role in this. For instance, during the season, the Echoput works with local Veluwe game and various vegetables, herbs, mushrooms, and fruits from the immediate area.
