Sven Ratzke takes you on a musical and theatrical journey through more than 130 years of cinema. In Kopfkino, the stage transforms into a living screen: familiar film songs sound in surprising new arrangements, while divas and dreamers come to life in personal stories and memories. From the very first flickering images in a peep-box to the dream world of Hollywood and the poetry of Fellini, Fassbinder, Hitchcock, and Lynch.
Ratzke lets you wander through a shimmering film universe: sometimes witty, sometimes melancholic, always unexpected. Greta Garbo or Miss Piggy could just appear before you. With pianist Julian Bohn and a set design by Momme Röhrbein — who truly transforms the stage into a living screen — Ratzke shows that theater and film, fantasy and reality, can seamlessly merge.
Over the past few seasons, Ratzke has sold out venues from Amsterdam to New York with his tributes to legends such as Marlene Dietrich and David Bowie. In Dans op de Vulkaan, he toured the vibrant Berlin of the 1920s together with Matangi. His shows are characterized by a fascinating mix of theater and cabaret, with compelling music as the common thread — always different, surprising, and completely authentic.
