ENERGY
In the autumn of 2026, Introdans brings loads of energy to the theaters. ENERGY is an evening full of dynamism, contrast, and the joy of dance, featuring two existing choreographies and two world premieres by choreographers with Mediterranean roots.
The program opens with Tagadà by Sofia Nappi, in which the eponymous Italian fairground attraction serves as a metaphor for life. Sometimes we just go round in circles, without any control. We balance between uncertainty, fear, joy, and euphoria. In that unpredictability of life, the connection with the people around you is a source of stability.
Andonis Foniadakis is creating a new piece especially for the Introdans ensemble. Extreme suppleness and exuberant energy are the constants in his work. Foniadakis fully empowers the dancers; lively and infectious.
Aristide Rontini places inclusive thinking at the heart of his choreography. As an Italian choreographer with his own company, he stands for accessibility and all kinds of bodily realities. Themes in his work include identity, the relationship between the individual and the community, and between nature and culture.
Flabbergast by Gustavo Ramírez Sansano closes the evening. In this stunning choreography, Sansano embraces his Spanish roots. Expressively and musically, the dancers explore their desires, identity, and each other to the rhythm of Latin American music, combined with the rousing music of Juan García Esquivel.
Sofia Nappi – Following the duet Kemet , Introdans is collaborating once again with this interesting choreographer, who received the Introdans Partner Award in 2021. Nappi’s work is very unique and theatrical, and communicates excellently with the audience.
Gustavo Ramírez Sansano – The celebrated choreographer, known for his contemporary version of Carmen , made a big impression with Flabbergast . Artistic director Roel Voorintholt loves the lightness and the wink of this creation.
Andonis Foniadakis – His choreography Volgens désir was one of the audience favorites from Introdans’ 2023 BACH program. Now Foniadakis is back with a new creation.
Aristide Rontini – This choreographer sets the standard for inclusive dance. At the invitation of Roel Voorintholt, Rontini is creating a new piece for ENERGY, the outcome of which is not yet clear – in any case, not something obvious.
About Introdans – For over 50 years, Introdans has been inspiring as many people as possible with the art of dance: with heart, soul, and immense craftsmanship.
