Bouwhuiscafé: Het stadspark van Apeldoorn

Architectuurcentrum Bouwhuis is organising a Bouwhuiscafé at ACEC on Tuesday 3 November about the green policy and Apeldoorn as a city park.

Architectuurcentrum Bouwhuis is organising a new edition of the Bouwhuiscafé on Tuesday, 3 November at ACEC. The theme of this evening: Het stadspark van Apeldoorn – Een tussenstand op weg naar de metamorfose van de Apeldoornse binnenstad.

Last summer, we saw the first lush results of various new green layouts in the Apeldoorn city centre. These are part of the newly implemented green policy of the municipality of Apeldoorn to increase the quality of stay in the city centre. The goal? To transform the public space from the station area to Paleis het Loo into a city park. For visitors to the city as well as current and future residents, the connection with the Apeldoorn landscape must become visible. This will make the city centre more attractive and climate-resilient.

The municipal public space designer, Yolanda Schalkwijk, will give a presentation on the progress of the new green layouts. What observed effects do these have on the surroundings? In addition, she will explain which current green policy is being applied in the (inner) city, the so-called NIKA (Natuur Inclusief Klimaat Adaptief) method that projects and plans must comply with during development and construction. This contributes to a healthy living environment and ensures Apeldoorn is ready for the future.
