Robert Long wrote personal lyrics — about blossoming and broken relationships, and injustices in faith and society. His first Dutch-language album , Vroeger of later, was perceived as controversial and offensive at the time, but simultaneously put sensitive subjects such as homosexuality, faith, and political issues on the map.

Bert would like to share his passion for the music and lyrics of Robert Long with you and hopes in this way to contribute to keeping the memory and work of this great singer/composer alive. In doing so, he briefly discusses Robert’s multifaceted career, who inspired him, what drove his lyrics, and Bert’s personal connection to the songs.

Bert accompanies himself mainly on the grand piano and occasionally on guitar.
