Pepernotenwandeling
Gingerbread walk in Apeldoorn.
About the Pepernoten Walk
For the more avid walker there is the 15, 20 or 25 kilometer route. All distances start in the clubhouse of Apeldoorn Walking Association De Trekvogels. After the start you walk through Apeldoorn-Zuid to the Westenenkerpark. The tour then continues via the sprengen towards Ugchelen and ultimately ends up in the Orderbos. Most of this forest consists of hilly pine forest, but you will also find smaller heathlands and old beech avenues.
In the Orderbos, a rest station has been set up in the scouting log cabin. Sinterklaas and Pieten will greet the walkers here, of course with gingerbread nuts. After this rest, a maze of small forest paths interspersed with open plains awaits the participants of the 15 and 20 kilometers. The longest distance route, 25 kilometers, goes via Kroondomein Het Loo towards Asselt.
Participants in the shorter distances return to the start via forest paths after resting in the log cabin. Santa will be busy during the Pepernoten Walk, because he will also be present in the clubhouse of De Trekvogels. You can walk the Pepernoten Walk on both Saturday and Sunday.
