Oscar Smit
Oscar Smit, winner of the Cameretten 2024 Jury Prize, comments wittily on the overheated housing market. After more than ten years living in rented rooms, he wants to live on his own—but is that really what he wants?
How did it come to this, where no one can afford a house anymore? And is it all the fault of the politicians? Oscar investigates the chaos on the housing market and its major underlying causes, wrapped in a series of clever jokes and relatable observations about life with housemates.
Oscar Smit won the jury prize at the Cameretten Festival in 2024, for which the jury praised him as ‘a committed creator who surprises with extremely clever jokes’. He is a permanent member of the Comedyhuis in Utrecht and co-wrote the VPRO television program Plakshot .
