Rob Kemps

Rob Kemps

The greatest chansonnier of all time is not a Frenchman, but a Belgian from Flanders. Jacques Brel. In Laat me niet alleen, Rob Kemps takes us in the footsteps of his hero – with as much humor as emotion.

Rob Kemps is an entertainer and writer, known from the Snollebollekes and the TV program Chansons!. His fascination with Père-Lachaise Cemetery led to the successful theatrical performance Hemel op aarde . Following the success of that program , Laat me niet alleen now follows, in which he takes the audience through stories about Jacques Brel: his music, his life, and Rob’s own life.

A life without Brel is no life – that is Rob’s credo. The Belgian chansonnier led an adventurous and colorful life: from Schaerbeek via Paris to Berlin, Moscow, New York, and finally to Hiva Oa in the Pacific Ocean, where he spent his final days and where he is buried.
