Romijn Scholten and Jacob Derwig have adapted Max Porter’s latest book into a liberating and destructive jungle love song. SHY brings the protagonist’s insane thoughts to life – together with drummer Michael Wanga. After Verdriet and Het ding met Veren, collective BLAUWDRUK dives once again into the linguistic, dark, and humorous work of Max Porter. This is a performance for everyone who has ever felt lost, who hears voices in their head, who searches for meaning.
Under the banner ‘BLAUWDRUK Schetst’, collective BLAUWDRUK conducts theatrical research into subjects outside their regular repertoire. The collective challenges itself with new sources of inspiration and working methods – from small studies to major investigations. In this performance, the electronic drum ‘n’ bass of the 90s becomes the heartbeat of the darkness.
